Kadant Johnson Germany Celebrates Return of the Paper Drying and Process Optimization Clinic
Kadant Johnson Deutschland GmbH recently hosted the Paper Drying and Process Optimization Clinic at the Hotel Hafen in Hamburg, Germany. The two-day seminar focused on various technical and physical fundamentals of steam and condensate systems as well as doctoring and cleaning technology.
Jörg Krischer, managing director, was pleased to welcome forty customers to the two-day event after cancelling the last two years during the pandemic. “For too long, the personal exchange was not possible, it was great to once again have this opportunity to meet in person”, said Krischer in his welcoming speech.
Since 2004, the Paper Drying and Process Optimization Clinic has focused on sharing technologies and know-how that our Kadant subject matter experts have acquired over decades in the paper industry. It is an exchange between participants and service providers about theory and practice.
The seminar consisted of lectures about rotary joints, cleaning, filtration, doctor blades, doctor systems, and steam and condensate, as well as two workshops. In the doctoring workshop, attendees had the opportunity to ask specific questions of doctoring experts Michael Bansee and Tony Colditz. In the steam and condensate system workshop, Karsten Berlin provided information about the EU Pressure Equipment Directive and its compliance with maintenance measures on a paper machine. Henning Schwieger spoke about cost reduction when heating auxiliary consumers with steam or condensate.
Also, two guest speakers from Schäfer Rolls GmbH & Co. KG from Renningen, Germany, were invited to join the clinic. Wolfgang Ziegler and Jörg Reiprich spoke about roll coatings and covers in combination with doctoring.
Mark your calendars for the next Paper Drying and Process Optimization Clinic which will be held in Germany on May 23-24, 2023.
