Kadant Johnson Hosts Paper Drying and Process Optimization Clinics
Two Paper Drying and Process Optimization Clinics were held in Three Rivers this month. Over 50 people attended and over 20 companies were represented. During the two day events, attendees had the opportunity to learn best-in-class practices from various process experts and identify new ways of looking at paper drying and dryer section optimization.
The clinic attracted a diverse group of papermakers, managers, superintendents, and engineers from paper and tissue mills across North America. The topics covered included paper drying fundamentals, condensate behavior inside a rotating cylinder, steam and condensate system design and control, reliability and service, and improving dryer performance, among other key issues impacting mill operations.
The feedback from the attendees was overwhelmingly positive and the interactions among the attendees provided an opportunity for idea exchange and new insights. Some specific comments taken from the post-clinic survey included:
“Good content and excellent speakers.”
“It’s good to hear from people that are actually in the field solving problems.”
“Great program.”
“Very well done.”
“Great insights to troubleshoot and understand my steam system.”
“The fundamentals of system design were very informative and helpful.”
